For Body Builder and Personal Trainer Bryan Waring, Faith and Fitness Go Hand-in-Hand
“The process shapes you before it rewards you,” Bryan Waring captioned a photo on his Instagram profile August 19, 2019. “Setting difficult goals teaches you perseverance and ultimately to believe in yourself.”
The post immediately catches your attention. The photo is a portrait of him; he’s centered, but his eyes are set on something just outside the camera’s frame. You see pure determination, strength and confidence on his face. It’s obvious Bryan is a man who has given himself over to the process – and, in turn, let it shape him and reward him. The caption is perfectly fitting. It leaves you wondering: what has made this man who he is today?
Bryan’s path has been one marked by dedication: dedication to one’s own vision, values and faith. He’s a bodybuilder and personal trainer with an engaged and active Instagram following. With each post, he motivates his followers to set the bar high. Whether he’s posting workout tips from the gym, pictures of his wife (also a competitive body builder with her sights set on the Olympics) or shots of his new LGND Leo boots, Bryan exudes positivity. He’s an example for what pursuing your goals with relentless ambition can result in.
Bodybuilding has always been a part of Bryan’s life. He grew up idolizing the greats, like Ronnie Coleman. His dad was a bodybuilder too, and had a gym built in his family’s backyard. But as a teen, Bryan was tall and lanky, a basketball player – and didn’t look anything like the muscled athletes he saw on TV. However, he didn’t let his physical stature stand in his way. He ultimately focused on lifting – with consistency. By 2011, he was participating in body building competitions – completely transformed.
Today, Bryan helps people undergo similar transformations – achieving the physical goals they once thought impossible.
“As a personal trainer, seeing my clients succeed and the giant smile across their faces brings light to my life,” Bryan says.
For Bryan, his client’s goals are just as important as his own – in his eyes, it’s better to give than to receive. This philosophy is apparent in his day-to-day life as well: if he’s working out at the gym, he’s the first to extend a hand or offer wisdom to less experienced athletes. He’s worked hard to get where he is today, and he’s earned respect as a leader in his community.
Outside of the gym’s walls, Bryan exhibits the same leadership. Putting God at the center of his life, Bryan spends his spare time leading bible study sessions for other men who are all on their own spiritual journeys.
“We get together to talk about our beliefs,” Bryan explains. “My faith is what keeps me grounded. I grew up in the church, and I’ve learned that everything possible when you trust in God. I put faith and fitness together. I don’t think you can have one without the other.”
As an individual who cares deeply about achieving his own best and helping others do the same, Bryan resonated with LGND’s Leave Your Mark philosophy. Joining the Ambassador program meant making a greater difference. He hopes to encourage others in the LGND community to keep going and to stay focused, even when challenges arise. He sees the LGND shoes as the perfect symbol for lacing up and facing those challenges head-on.
